The Maasai are perhaps the most well-known ethnic group in Kenya. They live in the semi-arid Great Rift Valley in Kenya and Tanzania.

They measure their wealth by the number of cattle, goats, and sheep they own. These animals represent food and power. Tthe more cattle the Maasai have, the richer they are.
